Sage Infused Brown Butter Whipped Potatoes

I have your perfect bowl of whipped potatoes for your holiday tables this year! OMG! I couldn’t get over just how D to the LISH these taters were. I wanted to devour the entire platter of them! I started off infusing heavy cream with fresh sage to give these potatoes that wonderful, earthy flavor that sage provides. When comfort food season hits, I’m always incorporating sage into my dishes. While my taters were cooking, I browned butter on the stove top to a fabulous, nutty flavor to add to my potatoes along with the sage infused cream. This was super easy to throw together and I don’t think I will make my whipped potatoes any other way moving forward. These were loaded with flavor and honestly, they didn’t even need gravy they were that good! Add these to your table this year and your guests will be raving!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs 2 Russet or Yukon Gold Potatoes

  • 1 cup 1 Heavy Cream

  • 1 1 Bunch of Sage Leaves(about 8-10)

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Salted Butter

  • S&P to taste

Directions

  • To begin, add cream and sage to stove top on medium/low heat. Once cream comes to a simmer, simmer for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Remove from heat and steep for 30 minutes to allow sage to infuse the cream
  • While cream is steeping, peel and cube your potatoes. Boil them until tender
  • While potatoes are cooking, brown your butter on the stove top by adding stick of butter to a small skillet on medium heat. Melt butter and continue to stir frequently while it transitions to the browning process. Once browning occurs and you smell that D to the LISH nutty flavor, remove from heat so you don’t burn the butter
  • Add cooked potatoes to your mixing bowl and add your cream and about 3/4 of your browned butter with S&P to taste. Whip potatoes until you reach your desired creamy, smooth consistency. Spoon taters in your serving bowl and garnish with remaining browned butter and some additional sage leaves. ENJOY!

Notes

  • You could make this recipe with thyme or rosemary as well if you’re not a fan of sage.
