Spicy Jalapeño Grapefruit Margarita

I don’t know about you but some of my favorite days are when I have a margarita and a basket of chips and guac in front of me. A person can get pretty spoiled living in Texas as there are so many places to visit that make great margs! I have come to love making fresh margaritas at home! There are so many variations to try and I haven’t found one I don’t love. There is something about a spicy, fruity margarita that I really love and this one, checks all of those boxes! Mix yourself one to pair with your favorite chips and salsa!

Spicy Jalapeño Grapefruit Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz 1.5 Silver Tequila

  • 1/2 oz 1/2 Triple Sec

  • 2 oz 2 Freshly Squeezed Grapefruit Juice

  • 1/2 oz 1/2 Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

  • 1/2 oz 1/2 Simple Syrup or Agave Nectar

  • 2 2 Slices Jalapeño

  • 4-6 4-6 Mint Leaves

  • Salt or Sugar for rim

Directions

  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle together jalapeno, simple syrup and mint leaves
  • Add lime juice, grapefruit juice, triple sec and tequila
  • Add ice and shake. Rim glass with sugar or salt if desired
  • Strain into margarita glass and garnish with lime and jalapeño

Notes

  • To make this a mocktail, omit tequila and triple sec and add additional fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.
