My title of this recipe is pretty bold, but I can safely say that Carl & Mama Joan enjoyed this with me and both said that this was the best Reuben they have ever had! What made this the best Rueben you ask?? It’s the home cooked corned beef brisket and fresh baked sourdough rye bread! That’s right, no deli corned beef here. We slow cooked this beauty to make this the BEST REUBEN! I was raised to love this D to the LISH sammie! My Grandma and my Mom both love the sandwich and whenever we get together for lunch at one of our favorite downtown spots back home, the table is filled with Ruebens. There is something about the flavor combination of this beauty that just makes it #1 in my book! The salty, briny corned beef with the sweet thousand island dressing and sauerkraut piled high on fresh baked rye bread?! I mean SERIOUSLY! WHAT COULD BE BETTER?! As I sit here writing this, completely stuffed from this amazing beast of a sandwich, my heart is full thinking about the memories of enjoying this sandwich with my favorite people. I think sometimes the reason we love a particular food so much is the people and memories we can tie to it. ❤️ Put this monster on your must make list and DIVE IN!
