Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls

What do you get when you combine the best cheesesteak with the best Chinese appetizer?! HEAVEN IN YOUR MOUTH! That’s what you get!! These cheesesteak egg rolls are nothing short of INSANE! The steak and peppers with the perfect melted provolone cheese in a crunchy wrapper topped with a slightly spicy cheesy sauce to drizzle on top is everything I want rolled up and fried! The best part about these little fellas is that they’re air fried! I figured I had to find a way to make them somewhat healthy! LOL! Air frying them is so easy and uses so much less oil and baby sitting next to the fryer. Just spray with oil and pop them in the air fryer with one flip in between and you have yourselves some golden brown, crunchy goodness! Roll some up for yourselves soon and ENJOY!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Tbsp 1-2 Olive Oil

  • 1 lb 1 Packaged Shaved Steak

  • 1 1 Sweet Onion

  • 1 1 Green Pepper

  • S&P to taste

  • 8 8 Slices Provolone Cheese

  • 16 oz 16 Velveeta Cheese

  • 8 oz 8 Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Milk

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Cayenne

  • 16 16 Egg Roll Wrappers

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Canola Oil

Directions

  • To begin, slice onion and green pepper. Add olive oil to skillet and add onions and peppers. Sauté until starting to brown and soft. Add shaved steak and season with salt and pepper
  • Once steak starts to brown and is starting to cook through, mix peppers and onions with steak and continue to sauté. Once cooked through, add provolone cheese. Place lid on skillet and turn burner to low. Allow cheese to melt. Once cheese has melted, stir to incorporate
  • Using two egg roll wrappers, double them up and place 3-4 tbsp of cheesesteak onto the wrapper. Fold wrapper over cheesesteak followed by folding over the right side, then the left. Dip your fingers in water and dab some on the top corner of the wrapper and complete rolling up. ( I hope I explained this well, good news in case I didn’t..there is a video posted below with an example! LOL)
  • Once your egg rolls are all rolled up, spray or brush canola oil on them and air fry at 400 degrees for 10 minutes flipping at 5 minutes
  • While rolls are in the air fryer, place your velveeta cheese cubes in a small sauce pot with milk and melt. Add cayenne and shredded cheddar cheese. Once melted in, remove from heat and serve with your cheesesteak egg rolls. You can drizzle or dip! The choice is yours! Time to DIVE IN!!

Notes

  • This is an important note, I highly recommend grating your own cheddar cheese from the block vs using shredded cheddar cheese from the bag. The cheese in the bag doesn’t melt as well as cheese that you grate yourself.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these egg rolls or you can obviously deep fry them too.
