Teriyaki Turkey Burgers with Pickled Purple Slaw & Sesame Chili Aioli

I love coming up with new ways to make a burger! The challenge of how high to stack it with all the yummy extras is always super fun for me! This is one of the best burgers I’ve ever created! It is full of amazing flavors and crunch with the slaw. The subtle heat from the chili aioli is the perfect addition to this super juicy, lean turkey burger. If you haven’t ever tried a turkey burger, I would make this your first one! You won’t regret it! Serve it up with a side of crispy sweet potato fries and ENJOY!

Ingredients

  • *For the Burgers*

  • 1 lb 1 Ground Turkey

  • 2 2 Green Onion White & Light Green Parts

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Grated Carrot

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1 tsp 1 Minced Garlic

  • 1 tsp 1 Pure Sesame Oil

  • 1 Tbsp 1 Light, Refined Sesame Oil for the fry pan

  • *For the Pickled Purple Slaw*

  • 1 cup 1 Thinly Sliced Purple Cabbage

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Grated Carrot

  • 2 2 Green Onions, Just the tops chopped

  • 1/4-1/2 cup 1/4-1/2 Cilantro Chopped

  • Diced Mango, optional

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Rice Wine Vinegar

  • 1 tsp 1 Pure Sesame Oil

  • 1 tsp 1 Light Agave Nectar or Honey

  • S&P to taste

  • *For the Sesame Chili Aioli*

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp 1 Sesame Chili Oil

  • 1 1 Pack of Brioche Burger Buns

Directions

  • To begin, prepare all ingredients for the pickled purple slaw and set aside until you’re ready to dress your burgers
  • Mix together mayo and sesame chili oil and set aside
  • In a mixing bowl, add ground turkey and all ingredients for the burgers. Mix well and form into 4 patties
  • Add light sesame oil to a skillet and pan fry burgers for 5 minutes each side.
  • To build burgers, spread a layer of chili aioli on the bottom bun, place burger on top and top with a mound of pickled purple slaw. ENJOY!

Notes

  • Mango adds a nice sweetness to the slaw so if you can find some fresh Mango, it’s a nice addition.
