Steak & Crispy Onion Bagel Breakfast Sandwich

Good Morning Sunshine! 🌞 There is nothing like a good breakfast sandwich! I used to order the steak egg and cheese bagel breakfast sandwich at McDonalds all the time and it was a sad day when they took it off their menu. I figured, why not create a sandwich like one of my favorites right at home and I have to say, this was a HOME RUN! It was sooo good and filling. With just a few ingredients, you can have your favorite fast food breakfast sandwich right from your kitchen! Pair it with some fresh fruit and your favorite cup of coffee. ENJOY!

Ingredients

  • 1 1 Everything Bagel Seasoning Bagel

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Canola Oil

  • 1 1 Piece of Cube Steak

  • 1/4 1/4 Sweet Onion Sliced

  • 2 Tbsp 2 Butter

  • 2 2 Slices American Cheese

  • S&P to taste

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Flour

  • All Purpose Seasoning to taste

  • Garlic Powder to taste

Directions

  • To begin, heat 1/4 cup canola oil in pan
  • Mix flour, all purpose seasoning and garlic powder. Coat cube steak in flour mixture and carefully lay the steak in the pan away from you. Fry 3-4 minutes per side
  • Add butter to pan and caramelize onions to crisp
  • Toast the bagel and lay 2 pieces of cheese on each side. Place steak on bottom bagel and top with crispy onions. Place the top bagel on and put in frying pan on low with the lid on to melt the cheese slices. Enjoy with some fresh fruit

Notes

  • This sandwich can easily have an egg added to it. Just fry an over easy egg or a folded egg and place on top of the steak. With or without the egg, this sandwich is D to the LISH!!
  • If you want to limit your steps in preparing this breakfast sandwich, here is what I did to make it a quick process. I made cube steak for dinner the night before. So, I just saved a piece for my breakfast sandwich and all I had to do was reheat it in the pan while I was crisping my onions!
