Calabrian Chili Pizza with Honey and Burrata

I don’t know if there is anything better than pizza night! I love coming up with new ways to make a good pie! I recently got my hands on a jar of Calabrian chilis and I love them with honey! The first pie I made was a Calabrian chili pie with sausage, fennel, honey and burrata. I sided that one with a smoked mozzarella, sweet pepper and sausage pie. Both were amazing and will definitely be on the repeat list. We have an outdoor pizza oven which is what I used to fire up these beauties, but they can certainly be made in your oven on a pizza stone, steel or in a cast iron pan. All options would be D to the LISH! Pair with a nice salad and red wine and DIVE IN!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 1 Pizza dough

  • 1/4-1/2 cup 1/4-1/2 Pizza Sauce

  • 1/2-1 cup 1/2-1 Tillamook Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Cooked Hot Italian Sausage

  • 2 Tbsp 2 Sliced Fennel

  • 2 Tbsp 2 Sliced Red Onion

  • 1-2 Tbsp 1-2 Chopped Calabrian Chilis from Jar

  • 1 1 Ball of Burrata

  • 1 Tbsp 1 Honey Drizzle

  • Fresh Basil for Garnish

Directions

  • To begin, preheat your oven to 500 or outdoor pizza oven to between 700-800
  • Roll out your dough and top with sauce, cheese, sausage, fennel and red onion
  • Bake pizza in the oven for 8-10 minutes. It may take a little longer depending on how well done you like your pie. If cooking in an outdoor pizza oven, rotate your pie about every 30 seconds to a minute. It should take around 3 minutes for your pie to be completely cooked.
  • Once you pull your pie, top with Calabrian chilis, burrata, honey and basil
  • Slice and serve!

Notes

  • For the second pie, I sliced sweet red pepper and grated fresh smoked mozzarella cheese. I built the pie with sauce, smoked mozzarella cheese, sausage, sweet peppers and red onion. Use the same baking direction as above
  • If you are new to the outdoor pizza oven game, I recommend watching youtube videos for help with building your pies and launching them in the oven.
