Blackberry Fig Compote

This recipe idea birthed from a stroll through the produce section at Trader Joe’s. I love fig season and they had shelves of fresh figs the day I was there! I thought they would be D to the LISH married with blackberries and I wasn’t wrong! This super easy fruit compote came together so quick and allowed me to use it for so many things! The sky is the limit! You can spread it on toast like a jam, use it on pancakes, french toast, feature it on your cheese board, and even mix it in drinks! Surprise!! I did all of the above! It makes just enough to keep in your fridge for a week or two to enjoy without having to go through the steps to preserve it. I like the simplicity of making enough just for the week. Give it a try and enjoy!

  • On medium heat, stir your sugar into your fruit and simmer until your fruit has cooked down and released the juices about 30 minutes. Turn to medium/low if your bubble is too high. You want a nice steady simmer
