I will take banana bread in ALL THE WAYS! With nuts, without nuts, with chocolate chips….you get my point! I find the perfect accompaniment to a D to the LISH loaf of banana bread is the spread. Now don’t get me wrong, plain butter is perfectly acceptable, however, when you can add that extra pizazz, that’s really when the flavors get kicked up a notch! And you know I’m all for kicking things up a notch. The toasted walnuts add such a nice depth of flavor in this bread paired with the rich bananas. 🍌 Speaking of depth of flavor, let’s get back to my favorite part…THE SPREAD! This easy spread is just 3 ingredients! Butter, hot honey and cinnamon, and when combined, the flavor is out of this world! The spicy cinnamon paired with the hot honey is perfection! It’s not too spicy, just subtle heat that is the perfect marriage slathered on top of this bread! Slice a piece warm and enjoy!
Toasted Walnut Banana Bread with Cinnamon Hot Honey Butter

*For the Bread*
1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 Flour
1 tsp 1 Baking Soda
1/2 cup 1/2 Butter Softened
3/4 cup 3/4 Sugar
1 tsp 1 Vanilla
1 1 Egg
3-4 3-4 Ripe Bananas
1/2 cup 1/2 Walnuts
*For the Spread*
1/2 cup 1/2 Butter
2 Tbsp 2 Hot Honey
1/2 tsp 1/2 Cinnamon
Directions
- To begin, preheat oven to 350. Chop walnuts and toast on the stove top until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside
- Add flour and baking soda together and whisk. Set aside
- Cream together butter and sugar until incorporated and add vanilla, egg and bananas. Mix well
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir together and fold in the toasted walnuts
- Spray a bread pan with non stick cooking spray and pour your batter in. Bake for 55-65 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on baking rack
- Combine ingredients for cinnamon hot honey butter and cream together. Spread on banana bread and DIVE IN!!
